Owen Nisley didn’t come up through corporate roofing. He came up through the kind of work where if you cut a corner, you have to look the person in the eye who feels it. That’s still how Nisley Commercial Roofing runs.
Roofing isn’t just what we do — it’s how we were raised. Show up, do the work right the first time, and stand behind it.
Owen grew up working alongside his family on a hard-working Amish-rooted farm in Pennsylvania, where the day started before sunrise and the standard for any job was simple: if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Cutting corners wasn’t a money problem — it was a character problem. That same standard is what built Nisley Commercial Roofing, and it’s still the standard every project gets held to.
After more than 40 years in the roofing trade — most of it on commercial buildings — Owen made an intentional decision: Nisley would be commercial-only. No bait-and-switch. No high-pressure storm-chasing. Just one focus, done at a high level, for property managers, business owners, and facility teams who need a contractor that actually picks up the phone.
Today, we’re factory-trained and certified on Conklin commercial roofing systems, partnered with RK HydroVac for advanced cleaning and prep, and based right here in North Carolina serving the Triad, Piedmont, and surrounding region. Owen is still personally involved on every estimate and every major project — because that’s how a roof gets installed, restored, and maintained the way it should be.

We tell you what your roof actually needs — not what would generate the biggest invoice. If a $1,200 repair will hold, we don’t pitch you a $40,000 replacement. If we say a system has 8 years left, we mean it. The work we put our name on is the work we’d want done on our own building.
